This is a short survey on some results in the author's papers [Thèse d'Univ. Rennes, see Math. Z. 198, No.1, 53-62 (1988; Zbl 0619.14016) and Commun. Algebra 16, No.2, 307-323 (1988; Zbl 0681.14009)]. Let \({\mathbb{R}}\) be a real closed field and \(V\subset {\mathbb{R}}^ n\) an algebraic variety with the coordinate ring A. Consider the real spectrum \(Spec_ rA\) of A and, over it, two sheaves \({\mathcal N}_ A\) and \({\mathcal N}_ V\), where \({\mathcal N}_ A\) denotes the structure sheaf of \(Spec_ rA\) and \({\mathcal N}_ V\) denotes the restriction of the sheaf \({\mathcal N}_{{\mathbb{R}}[X_ 1,...,X_ n]}\) of ``Nash functions'' (over \(Spec_ r{\mathbb{R}}[X_ 1,...,X_ n])\) to \(Spec_ rA\). Then, after the article of \textit{M.-F. Roy} [in Géométrie algébrique réelle et formes quadratiques, Journ. S. M. F., Univ. Rennes 1981, Lect. Notes Math. 959, 406-432 (1982; Zbl 0497.14009)], the results in this survey clarify the relation between these sheaves.
