The authors prove a generalization of A. I. Shirshov's theorem which reads as follows. Let M be a left module over a finitely generated PI- algebra A of degree d. Suppose that for each \(m\in M\) and each monomial V of degree at most d in the fixed generating set there exists a polynomial \(f\neq 0\) such that \(f(V)m=0\). Then M is locally finite-dimensional.
