    Let A(p) be the class of functions of the form \(f(z)=z^ p+\sum^{\infty}_{n=p+1}a_ nz^ n\) \((p=1,2,...)\) which are analytic in \(\Delta =\{z:| z| <1\}\). A function f(z) in A(p) is said to be p-valently starlike in \(\Delta\) if it satisfies \[ Re\{\frac{zf'(z)}{f(z)}\}>0\quad (z\in \Delta). \] We denote by \(S^*(p)\) the subclass of A(p) consisting of all p-valently starlike functions in \(\Delta\). A function f in A(p) is said to be a member of B(p,\(\alpha\)) \((\alpha >0)\) if there exists a function \(g(z)\in S^*(p)\) such that Re\(\{\frac{zf'(z)f(z)^{\alpha -1}}{g(z)^{\alpha}}\}>0\) for all \(z\in \Delta\). The author proves that if f(z)\(\in B(p,\alpha)\), then the function H(z) defined by \[ (H(z))^{\alpha}=\frac{p\alpha +1}{z}\int^{z}_{0}f(t)^{\alpha}dt \] for \(z\in \Delta\) is also in class B(p,\(\alpha\)).
