The author has obtained some theorems on the existence of local solutions of the equation \(Au=f\) near a trivial solution \(u_ 0\) of \(Au_ 0=0\), where 0 is near f and A is a differential operator. The hypotheses are used in the same way in the Nash-Moser implicit theorem, but the author's results have classical proofs based on the degree mappings. Moreover, the existence results are applied to show the existence of local invariant manifolds for singularly perturbed ordinary differential equations.
