In 2015, \textit{G. E. Andrews} [Int. J. Number Theory 11, No. 5, 1523--1533 (2015; Zbl 1325.11107)] introduced combinatorial objects that he called singular overpartitions. Let \(\overline{C}_{k,i}(n)\) denote the number of \((k,i)\)-singular partitions of \(n\), which denotes the number of overpartitions of \(n\) in which no part is divisible by \(k\) and only parts \(\pm i\pmod{k}\) may be overlined. Andrews proved that for any \(n\geq0\), \[ \overline{C}_{3,1}(9n+3)\equiv\overline{C}_{3,1}(9n+6)\equiv0\pmod{3}. \] Since then, a number of of congruences modulo \(2\), \(3\), \(4\), \(8\), \(9\), \(16\), \(32\), and \(64\) for \(\overline{C}_{k,i}(n)\) with some pair \((k,i)\) have been established. The authors prove some congruences modulo small powers of \(2\) for \((48,6)\)- and \((48,18)\)-singular partitions. For example, they prove that for any \(n\geq0\) and \(k\geq0\), \begin{align*} \overline{C}_{48,6}(16n+12) &\equiv0\pmod{8},\\ \overline{C}_{48,6}(32n+28) &\equiv0\pmod{16},\\ \overline{C}_{48,18}(16n+15) &\equiv0\pmod{8},\\ \overline{C}_{48,18}(32n+15) &\equiv0\pmod{16},\\ \overline{C}_{48,6}{\left(2^{2k+4}n+\frac{s\times2^{2k}-10}{3}\right)} &\equiv0\pmod{2},\quad s\in\{34,46,49\},\\ \overline{C}_{48,18}{\left(2^{2k+4}n+\frac{t\times2^{2k}-1}{3}\right)} &\equiv0\pmod{2},\quad t\in\{25,34,46\}. \end{align*} The main ingredients are several \(q\)-series identities involving the Euler product \((q;q)_\infty=\prod_{n=1}^\infty(1-q^n)\) and standard \(q\)-series manipulations.
