      The authors study properties of solutions of some discrete Painlevé-type $q$-difference equations. Such properties mainly pertain to Nevanlinna theory: fixed points, zeros and poles, growth, etc. The classes of equations considered in the paper are: \begin{align*} f(qz) f(z/q) (f(z) - 1)^2 &= f(z)^2 - \lambda f(z) + \mu,\ \lambda \mu \neq 0,\ \lambda, \mu \text{ constants}, \\ f(qz) f(z/q) (f(z) - 1)^2 &= f(z)^2, \\ f(qz) f(z/q) (f(z) - 1) &= \lambda(z) f(z),\ \lambda(z) \text{ a nonconstant polynomial}, \\ f(qz) f(z/q) f(z)^2 &= h(z),\ h(z) \text{ a nonconstant rational function}. \end{align*}
