This paper is devoted to the study of the asymptotic behavior of a class of functional differential equations. It is shown how recent existence results for pullback exponential attractors (for abstract dynamical systems) can be applied to nonautonomous delay differential equations with time-varying delays. The authors prove the existence of pullback exponential attractors for evolution processes generated by nonautonomous delay differential equations and derive explicit estimates for their fractal dimension. They consider nonautonomous delay differential equations with a time-varying delay $\rho$ of the form \[ \begin{aligned} & \frac{dx(t)}{dt} = F(t,x(t-\rho(t))), t > s, \\ & x_{s} = u\in \mathcal{C},\ s\in \mathbb R, \end{aligned} \tag{1} \] where $\rho : \mathbb R \to [0,h]$ is continuous and $h > 0$ and $\mathcal{C}:= C([-h,0],\mathbb R^n)$. The reported results are new and interesting for experts in the theory of nonautonomous functional-differential equations and nonautonomous dynamical systems.
