The Dieckmann-Law model of stationary biological communities [\textit{M. Raghib} et al., J. Math. Biol. 62, No. 5, 605--653 (2011; Zbl 1232.92074)] leads to a nonlinear integral equation. In this paper the authors prove existence of solutions of a related integral equilibrium equation by means of standard fixed point theorems.
