The authors investigate an epidemiological model and evaluate the effectiveness of multiple means of control in malaria-endemic areas. By using a multi-compartment representation, the authors consider a mathematical model consisting of a complex system of nine ordinary differential equations. The model takes into account the multiple resting-questing stages undergone by adult female mosquitoes during the period in which they function as disease vectors. They first study the positive invariance of the nonnegative cone in the state-space system and then show existence of trivial equilibrium as well as endemic equilibrium. Boundedness of trajectories and stability analysis of the system are also provided.
