The authors investigate the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions of the fourth order ordinary differential equation \[u^{(4)}(t)+Mu(t)+f(t, u(t) )=0, t\in [0,1], \tag{1}\] subject to the boundary conditions \[u(0)=u'(0)=u''(0)=0, \ u(1)=\lambda \int_0^1 u(s)\, ds.\tag{2} \] The authors construct and study the properties of the Green's function associated to the BVP (1)--(2). The existence and multiplicity results are obtained via the Krasnosel'skiĭ-Guo and the Leggett-Williams fixed point theorems. Two examples are presented in order to illustrate the theoretical results.
