This article concerns the long-time behavior of a class of extensible beams equation with nonlocal weak damping \[ u_{tt}+\Delta^2u-m(\|\nabla u\|^2)\Delta u+\|u_t\|^{p}u_t+f(u)=h,\quad (x,t)\in\Omega\times \mathbb{R}^+,\tag{1} \] with respect to clamped or hinged boundary conditions \[ u|_{\partial\Omega}=\frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu}\Big|_{\partial\Omega}=0\quad \text{or}\quad u|_{\partial\Omega}=\Delta u|_{\partial \Omega}=0,\tag{2} \] where $\nu$ is the unit outward normal on $\partial \Omega$. To obtain the well-posedness of (1)--(2), the authors avoid the standard Fatou-Galerkin method, but use the monotone operator theory with locally Lipschitz perturbation. For this, they extend the monotonicity inequality to Hilbert space for giving the monotonicity of the damping term. Next, they apply the energy reconstruction method to investigate the asymptotic smoothness of the semigroup. Finally, the existence of a global attractor associated with (1)--(2) in the subcritical case is established.
