This paper is devoted to study hyperbolic 3-polytopes of finite volume with all dihedral angles equal to 90\degree. One of the main results is that the operation of truncating the ideal vertices (at infinity) establishes a bijection from the set of right-angled hyperbolic 3-polytopes to the set of strongly cyclically 4-edge-connected 3-polytopes other than the cube and the pentagonal prism. The proof given is based on a theorem of \textit{E. M. Andreev} [Math. USSR, Sb. 12, 255--259 (1971; Zbl 0252.52005); translation from Mat. Sb., Nov. Ser. 83(125), 256--260 (1970; Zbl 0203.54904)]. The second group of results concerns an application of a generating construction of \textit{D. Barnette} [Discrete Math. 7, 199--208 (1974; Zbl 0273.05104)] to hyperbolic right-angled 3-polytopes. Using edge twists, the author of the paper under review describes the relations with Barnette's construction via perfect matchings.
