The paper addresses a conjecture of \textit{I. Coskun} and \textit{J. Starr} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2009, No. 24, 4626--4641 (2009; Zbl 1200.14051)] which says theat for a general hypersurface \(X_{P}^n\) with \(n\geq 4\) and degree \(d\leq n\), the space parametrizing smooth rational curves of degree \(e\) is irreducible of dimension \(e(n+1-d)+n-4\) and if \(d\leq n-1\), the evaluation map \(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{0,1}(X,e)\to X\) is flat. The author proves the the flatness of the above map when \(e<n-\frac{1+\sqrt{n^2-n-15}}{2}\) and \(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_{0,0}(X,e)\) has two components, one with generic member smooth rational curve and the the other consisting of \(\deg e\) covers of a line.
