    The authors consider the Laplacian in a thin \(T\)-like shaped domain, which is introduced as \(\Omega_\varepsilon:=\omega\times(-\varepsilon,0)\cup \varepsilon\omega\times[0,d)\), where \(\omega\) is an open interval in \(\mathbb{R}\) containing the origin. The symbol \(\varepsilon\) stands for a small positive parameter and \(\Gamma_\varepsilon:=\partial\omega\times(-\varepsilon,0)\cup \varepsilon\omega\times\{d\})\). The operator in study is the Laplacian subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition on \(\Gamma_\varepsilon\) and to the Neumann condition on the rest of the boundary. It is well-known that such operator converges in the norm resolvent sense to the second derivative on a graph being the skeleton of the considered domain, which is \(\omega\times\{0\}\cup \{0\}\times[0,d)\). This operator is subject to the Dirichlet condition at the end-points and the Kirchoff condition in the inner vertex. This allows us to describe the convergence of the low eigenvalues of the considered operator in the thin domain but gives no information about the asymptotic behavior of the higher eigenvalues. In the present paper, the authors describe the asymptotic behavior for some of such higher eigenvalues, namely, for the eigenvalues of order \(\varepsilon^{-2}\). It is shown that for the eigenvalues of the original problem obeying the condition \(\varepsilon^2\lambda_\varepsilon\to\lambda\), the limiting values \(\lambda\) are the eigenvalues of a certain two-dimensional problem. This problem is to find non-trivial \((u^a,u^b)\in V^a\times V^b\) such that \[ \int\limits_{\Omega^a} \partial_{x_1} u^a \partial_{x_1} v^a\,dx + \int\limits_{\Omega^b} \partial_{x_2} u^b \partial_{x_2} v^b\,dx=\lambda \left(\int\limits_{\Omega^a} u^a v^a\,dx + \int\limits_{\Omega^b} u^b v^b\,dx\right)\,dx \] for all \((v^a,v^b)\in V^a\times V^b\). Here \begin{align*} V^a&:=\{v\in L_2(\Omega^a): \partial_{x_1} v \in L_2(\Omega^a)\}, \qquad \Omega^a:=\omega\times(0,d),\\ V^b&:=\{v\in L_2(\Omega^b): \partial_{x_2} v \in L_2(\Omega^b)\}, \qquad \Omega^b:=\omega\times(-1,0). \end{align*}
