The authors mainly study convex Sobolev inequalities, existence and asymptotic behavior of weak solutions of nonlinear drift-diffusion-reaction equations. The treated drift-diffusion-reaction equation has an fruitful use in several fields as statistical mechanics and nonlinear fitness-driven models of population dynamics. Kondratyev and Vorotnikov are interested in the exponential decay of the Lyapunov functional along the trajectories of this gradient flow. This is related to the entropy-entropy production inequalities. The principal result, Theorem 3.6, indicates that the populations converge to the ideal free distribution with an exponential rate. The problem can be viewed as a formal gradient flow, with respect to the unbalanced Hellinger-Kantorovich Riemannian structure, of the considered driving functional. The proofs in the present paper are more direct and simple than in a recent paper, by the authors, due to the ``quasihomogeneous structure''.
