The main result of the paper asserts that in the Polish metric space a typical compact set is self-similar in the sense of \textit{N.-A. Secelean} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 410, No. 2, 847--858 (2014; Zbl 1339.28014)]. For the Euclidean space a typical compact set is such that for any \({r\in (0,1)}\) it is a fractal of a generalized iterated function system of infinite order consisting of the Lipschitz functions with a Lipschitz constant less than \(r.\) The proof is based on the use of some modification of a construction due to \textit{R. Balka} and \textit{A. Máthé} [Fundam. Math. 221, No. 1, 83--94 (2013; Zbl 1282.54032); Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Math. 38, No. 2, 797--804 (2013; Zbl 1295.28007)].
