    Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be real vector spaces and \(D\) a convex subset of \(X\). A set-valued function \(F: D \to 2^Y\) is said to be convex if \(F\) is non-empty-valued and \(tF(x)+ (1-t) F(y) \subset F(tx+(1-t)y)\) for any \(x,y \in D\) and \(t \in [0,1]\). A single-valued function \(f: D \to Y\) is said to be affine if \(tf(x) +(1-t) f(y) = f(tx+(1-t)y)\) for any \(x,y \in D\) and \(t \in [0,1]\), and \(f\) is called a selection of \(F: D \to 2^Y\) if \(f(x) \in F(x)\) for any \(x \in D\). As a generalization of a theorem of \textit{D. A. Edwards} [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 261, 2798--2800 (1965; Zbl 0156.13301)], \textit{A. J. Lazar} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 134, 503-525 (1968; Zbl 0174.17102)] proved that if \(D\) is a Choquet simplex, \(Y\) is a Fréchet space and \(F: D\to 2^Y\) is a lower semicontinuous convex closed-valued function, then \(F\) admits a continuous affine selection. Here the assumption that \(D\) is a Choquet simplex is essential. Indeed, \textit{G. H. Olsen} [Math. Stud. 38, 31--52 (1980; Zbl 0466.46013)] gave an example of a lower semicontinuous convex closed-valued function on a square to the real line which does not admit an affine selection. In this paper, the author studies the existence of local affine selections. Let \(X\) be a topological vector space, \(D\) a convex subset of \(X\) with non-empty interior and \(Y\) a real vector space. A non-empty-valued function \(F: D \to 2^Y\) is said to admit a local affine selection if for every point \(x_0\in\mathrm{Int} D\) there exists an open neighborhood \(U\) of \(x_0\) in \(D\) and an affine function \(f : X \to Y\) such that \(f(x) \in F(x)\) for every \(x \in U\). The author proves that if \(X =\mathbb{R}^n\) and \(F\) is convex, then \(F\) admits a local affine selection. The author also gives two examples of convex set-valued functions on certain infinite-dimensional Banach spaces which do not admit a local affine selection.
