Considered is an IBVP for the second-order nonlinear wave equation with Robin boundary condition of the form: \[ u_{tt}+bu_t=\Delta u+f(u)+h(x,t),\text{ for }x\in\Omega,\, t>0, \] \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu}+\gamma u=0,\text{ for }x\in\partial\Omega,\, t>0, \] \[ u(x,0)=u_o(x),u_t(x,0)=u_1(x),\, x\in\Omega. \] \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary, \(\nu\) is the unit outward normal to the boundary, \(b,\gamma\in\mathbb{R}\) are given real numbers. For weakly damped nonlinear wave equations, i.e. \(b>0\) and \(\gamma>0\), sufficient conditions for the global nonexistence of solutions are proved. One proves the existence of solutions with large initial energy that blow up in finite time. The second main result in paper refers to the case of accelerating term, i.e. \(\gamma\in\mathbb{R}\) and \(b<0\). Under some assumptions involving initial conditions, nonlinear term \(f\) and source term \(h\), sufficient conditions for the blow-up of solutions are shown.
