The authors consider the Hamiltonian on \(\ell^2 ({\mathbb Z}^d)\) with a random potential constructed from finite-rank projections and independent identically distributed random variables, \[ H_\omega = -\Delta + \sum\limits_{j} \omega_j P_j, \] where \(\Delta\) is the finite-difference Laplacian, the elements of \(\omega = (\omega_j)\) are distributed according to a common Borel probability measure \(\nu\) and the projections \(P_j\) form a complete family of orthogonal projections with common rank \(N \in \mathbb{N}\). The main object of interest is the {\em{density of states measure}}, defined as a spectral average \[ n_\nu^{(\infty)}(f):= \dfrac{1}{N} \mathbb{E}_{\nu^{(\infty)}} \mathrm{Tr} \left( P_0 f(H_\omega) P_0 \right),\quad f \in \mathcal{C}_c(\mathbb{R}), \] with respect to the infinite product measure \(\nu^{(\infty)} := \bigotimes_{j \in \mathcal{J}} \nu\). It is proved that the density of states measure is weak-* Hölder-continuous in the probability measure. There is no assumption about the compact support of the measure (this case was treated in the previous paper by the same authors [``Dependence of the density of states on the probability distribution for discrete random Schrödinger operators'', Int. Math. Res. Not. (2018), \url{doi:10.1093/imrn/rny156}]. The quantitative continuity properties of the \textit{integrated density of states} \(N_\nu(E) :=n_\nu^{(\infty)}((-\infty, E])\) is also investigated. Similar results are proved for the continuum analogue \[ -\Delta + \sum\limits_{j\in {\mathbb Z}^d} \omega_j \phi(\cdot-j) \quad \text{ on } \quad L^2({\mathbb R}^d), \] where \(\Delta\) is the Laplacian on \({\mathbb R}^d\), \(0 \leq \phi \leq 1\) is a fixed continuous function supported in a compact neighborhood of the origin, and \(\omega_j\) are independent identically distributed potentials with underlying single-site probability measure. The proofs are based on the estimate invented by \textit{J. M. Combes} and \textit{L. Thomas} [Commun. Math. Phys. 34, 251--270 (1973; Zbl 0271.35062)] and the Helffer-Sjöstrand functional calculus.
