The Volterra integral equation with a weakly singular kernel is studied. Projection methods used for solving this equation including the convergence rate are studied. Galerkin and multi-Galerkin methods in the space of piecewise polynomials based on graded meshs are considered. The convergence rates of both methods are developed. Theoretical results are supported by numerical examples.
