In their previous paper [J. Algebra 472, 67--94 (2017; Zbl 1404.16030)], the authors gave an intrinsic definition of (normal) solvability of a semisimple Hopf algebra, in terms of chains of left coideal subalgebras and their integrals. A twist of a Hopf algebra \(H\) is an invertible element \(J\in H\otimes H\) satisfying two additional conditions. Given a twist, one can define a new Hopf algebra \(H^J\), with a newly defined comultiplication and antipode. The main result is now the following. If \(H\) is a normally solvable semisimple Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0, then \(H^J\) is also normally solvable, for any twist \(J\) of \(H\). This result can be applied to \(H=kG\), where \(G\) is a finite solvable group. Another consequence is that any semisimple triangular Hopf algebra of dimension \(p^aq^b\) is normally solvable. In the final section, explicit formulas are given in the situation where \(G=S_3\times S_3\).
