In this paper, the authors consider a smooth metric measure space \((M^n, g, e^{-\phi} dv)\). The associated weighted Laplacian \(\Delta_{\phi}\) is a symmetric diffusion operator given by \(\Delta -\nabla_{\nabla\phi}\). In this paper, the authors derive Li-Yau type and local elliptic gradient estimates for positive solutions of a nonlinear parabolic equation \[ (\Delta_{\phi}- \partial_t)u = pu + qu^{a+1} \] in \(M^n \times (-\infty,+\infty)\), where \(p, q \in C^{2,1}(M^n \times (-\infty,+\infty))\), and \(a\) is a positive constant.
