The paper investigates the periodic second-order differential equation \[ y'' + \eta \, \mathrm{sgn}(y) = \theta y + \alpha \sin(\beta t), \] where the parameters \(\eta\), \(\theta\), \(\alpha\), \(\beta\) are real numbers with \(\eta\neq 0\) and \(\beta>0\). The authors extend the study in [``Periodic solutions of a class of non-autonomous second order differential equations with discontinuous right-hand side'', Phys D 241, No. 22, 2003--2009 (2012; \url{doi:10.1016/j.physd.2011.05.011})] (\(\theta=0\) and \(\eta>0\)), by analysing the following four cases: \(\theta>0\), \(\theta=-\beta^{2}\), \(-\beta^{2}\neq\theta<0\), \(\theta=0\) and \(\eta<0\). They provide conditions for the existence of periodic solutions, focusing on their number and regularity (the main results are presented in Section~2). Some numerical examples are also given.
