In this interesting paper, the authors consider certain natural subspaces of hyperspaces of continua, and hyperspaces of such subspaces. Given a map \(f\) between continua, it extends in a natural way to the hyperspaces considered. The question addressed in this paper is: when do these extensions share interesting properties with \(f\)? The properties considered are being confluent, weakly confluent, light and open. An intricate example is presented that shows that some extension of a given map \(f\) is confluent, but another one of the same \(f\) is not weakly confluent. With previous published work, this completes the picture for all confluent and weakly confluent extensions of the same map. Another intricate continuum completes the information needed for a complete picture for light maps. And the same for open maps.
