Let \(X\) be a compact Kähler manifold of dimension \(n\), and \(D\) a smooth hypersurface such that \(K_X+ D\) is ample. It is proved that the Kähler-Einstein metrics \(\omega_{\beta}\) with cone angle \(2\pi \beta\) along \(D\) converge to the Kähler-Einstein cusp metric \(\omega_0\). The strategy of the proof consists of adapting the stability arguments to this setting where the cohomology classes do not evolve in a monotonic manner. Once the weak convergence is obtained, it is sufficient to establish a priori estimates for the potentials of \(\omega_{\beta}\) in order to get the smooth convergence on the compact subsets of \(X \backslash D\). The main tool is actually the maximum principle. The author also obtains lower and upper bounds for \(\omega_{\beta}\), that allows to construct the metric \(\omega_0\). In the last part of this paper, the focus is the (rough) asymptotic behavior of \(\omega_{\beta}\) near \(D\), when \(\beta\) tends to \(0\).
