This paper develops a stability analysis of the Bate-Hilker model. This model describes the evolution of a prey-predator population with a diseased predator and is represented by a nonlinear autonomous system. Let \(N(t)\) be the density of the prey population, \(S(t)\) be the density of susceptible predator population, and \(I(t)\) be the density of infected predators. The system is described by three equations \[\dot{N}(t)=rN(t)(1-N(t))-N(t)(S(t)+I(t))/(h+N(t)),\] \[\dot{S}(t)=N(t)(S(t)+I(t))/(h+N(t))-mS(t)-\beta S(t)I(t),\] \[\dot{I}(t)=\beta S(t)I(t)-(m+\mu)I(t),\] where \(r\) is the pro-capite intrinsic growth rate of the prey, \(h\) is the constant of the Holling type II, \(m\) is the pro-capite mortality rate of predators, \(\mu\) is the additional pro-capite mortality rate, and \(\beta\) is the transmissibility. The author finds the repelling conditions that assure the global uniform persistence of the system. The stability analysis of a disease-free version is also studied.
