As the main result of this paper, the authors establish an alternative proof of the generalized Littlewood Tauberian theorem for \((C,1,1)\) summable double sequences. In the proof, the authors use the notion of a regularly generated sequence. The theorem is stated as follows: Theorem. Let \((u_{mn})\) be \((C,1,1)\) bounded. If \((u_{mn})\) is \((C,1,1)\) summable to \(s\) and slowly oscillating in the senses \((1,1), (1,0)\) and \((0,1)\), then \((u_{mn})\) is \(P\)-convergent to \(s\). An analogous theorem in the case of single sequences was proved in [\textit{Ç. İbrahim}, Appl. Math. Lett. 23, No. 7, 818--820 (2010; Zbl 1202.40004)].
