    The paper deals with open-loop controls of plants governed by systems of differential equations in normal form that includes nonsmooth terms in the right-hand side. Such problems are reduced to unconstrained nonsmooth minimization problems for which necessary and sufficient optimality are provided by means of a generalized subdifferential notion. The subdifferential descent method is employed then to solve the problem, and numerical examples are provided as well.
