The existence, uniqueness, and regularity of the solutions of Caputo-type reaction-diffusion equations, Caputo-type reaction-diffusion-wave equations, and Caputo-type cable equations are studied. These three kinds of Caputo-type partial differential equations were numerically studied via the local discontinuous Galerkin (LDG) finite element methods in [\textit{C. Li} and \textit{Z. Wang}, Appl. Numer. Math. 140, 1--22 (2019; Zbl 1435.65161)]. Moreover, an improved error estimate of Caputo-type cable equations is also given and the theoretical results are verified for two numerical examples.
