For a locally strongly convex affine hypersphere \(F:F^n\hookrightarrow\mathbb R^{n+1}\) (\(n\geq 3\)) with affine mean curvature \(H\), it is known that the inequality \[ \frac{n(n-1)}{2}\kappa-\sup\hat{K}\geq\frac{(n+1)(n-2)}{2}H \] holds, where \(\kappa\) is the normalized scalar curvature and \(\sup\hat{K}\) is the supreme of the sectional curvatures. One calls the above inequality Chen's inequality and the corresponding equality Chen's equality. On the locally strongly convex affine hyperspheres of dimension \(n\) realizing Chen's equality being not hyperquadrics, there naturally exists a canonical integrable distribution \(\mathbb D_m\) of dimension \(m\) for some \(2\leq m\leq n\). The author and Xu proposed a conjecture for \(2\leq m\leq n-1\) and a problem for \(m=n\) to classify them, where the conjecture was confirmed when \(m=2,3\), and the problem was solved for \(3\)-dimensional proper affine hyperspheres. In this paper, he proves the conjecture under a natural condition of \(\mathbb D_m\). In particular, he confirms the conjecture for \(m\leq 5\).
