The Hausdorff-Young inequality shows that the \(k\)-Lebesgue norm of the Fourier transform of a function can be estimated by its norm in the Lebesgue space with dual exponent \(p\), under the assumption that \(p\) does not exceed 2. Different generalizations of the inequality have been given, in particular, in [\textit{E. Hewitt} and \textit{K. A. Ross}, Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 29, 317--330 (1974; Zbl 0302.43006)], where the estimate was proved to be valid for functions on compact groups, and in [\textit{M. M. Rao}, Isr. J. Math. 6, 133--149 (1968; Zbl 0164.43501)], where Lebesgue spaces were replaced with Orlicz spaces by using the so-called complementary function as substitute of the dual exponent. In the present paper, the authors generalize the Hausdorff-Young inequality in both these directions, by proving the estimate for Orlicz spaces on compact homogeneous manifolds. We refer to [\textit{R. Akylzhanov} and \textit{M. Ruzhansky}, C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 354, No. 8, 766--770 (2016; Zbl 1343.43001)] for related results on locally compact groups.
