Conditional waiting time distributions of runs and patterns and their applications (Q2304255)

This paper presented two relevant applications of the theory of conditional distributions of execution time and patterns, a nonparametric test for randomness and nonparametric control charts for monitoring location shifts. In addition, the article applies the nonparametric test for randomness to rainfall data at Oxford from 1858 to 1952 and the nonparametric control chart to piston ring data (of the book [\textit{D. C. Montgomery}, Introduction to statistical quality control. 5th ed. Hoboken, NJ: John Wiley \& Sons (2005; Zbl 1059.62125)]).
