Application of the residual method in the right hand side reconstruction problem for a system of fractional order (Q2304414)

In this paper, the problem of determining the right hand side of linear parabolic equations is studied. The problem is nested in the circle of inverse problems for distributed systems. The author addresses the problem with the classic least squares method by minimizing a functional that is the square performance criterion. First, it is proved that this functional is Frechet differentiable. Then, the author discretizes the corrresponding variational problem by the finite element method and proves its convergence. Finally, the method is illustrated with some numerical examples.
