Breathers and other time-periodic solutions in an array of cantilevers decorated with magnets (Q2305085)

An array of cantilevers with magnetic tips is modelled by the system \[ m\ddot{u}_n=A[d_0+u_n-u_{n-1}]^p - A[d_0+u_{n+1}-u_n]^p-\gamma \dot{u}_n-\kappa u_n+\beta u_n^3+F_{ext} \cos(2\pi f_dt), \tag{1} \] \(1 \le n \le N\), where \(N\) is the number of cantilevers, \(F_{ext}= -y_0(2\pi f_d)^2m, u_0=u_N\equiv 0\). The authors study by means of numerical methods existence, stability and bifurcation of \(1/f_d\)-periodic solutions of (1). Additionally, they are interested in periodic solutions with spatial location (breathers).
