In this paper, the authors studied the $\sigma$-LCD codes over finite chain rings. They characterize $\sigma$-LCD linear codes over finite chain rings by using their generator matrix. A necessary and sufficient condition for a linear code to be $\sigma$-LCD over a series of finite chain rings is given. They provide a sufficient condition for a projection of a $\sigma$-LCD code to be $\sigma$-LCD and show that the converse, in general, is not true. Additionally, they show that for a code defined over the ring of formal power series, to be $\sigma$-LCD, it is sufficient that its projection on a chain ring is $\sigma$-LCD. Under some conditions, they characterize free $\sigma$-LCD constacyclic code and give a necessary and sufficient condition for a constacyclic code to be $\sigma$-LCD. Finally they use a Gray map to study $\sigma$-LCD codes over $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$, where $\sigma$ is a certain automorphism of $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$. The authors prove that the Gray image of a $\sigma$-dual code of a linear code over $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$ is a $\theta$-dual of the Gray image of this linear code over $\mathbb{F}_q$, where $\theta$ is a certain automorphism of $\mathbb{F}_q$ and characterize $\sigma$-LCD codes over $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$. Under some conditions they show that the residue code of a $\sigma$-LCD code over $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$ is a $\theta$-LCD code over $\mathbb{F}_q$. By using constacyclic codes over $\mathbb{F}_q+ \gamma \mathbb{F}_q$, they give some conditions for existence of entanglement assisted quantum error correcting codes (EAQEC) and constructed new EAQEC codes with maximal entanglement and parts of them are MDS EAQEC codes.
