The authors present the local as well as the global convergence of Gauss-Newton methods with inexact projections. These methods are used to solve constrained nonlinear least squares problems. The convergence analysis includes the order of convergence for these methdos. The examples illustrate that these methods compare favorably to proximal Gauss-Newton methods as well as inexact Gauss-Newton trust-region methods.
