The author was one of the authors of [\textit{P. Ivanisvili} et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 368, No. 5, 3415--3468 (2016; Zbl 1346.42003)], which introduced the Bellman function for the study of some of the fundamental inequalities of \(\mathrm{BMO}\), \[\ \mathcal{B}_{\epsilon}(x_1, x_2, f) = \sup_{ \phi \in\mathrm{BMO}_{\epsilon}(I)} \{ < f\ \circ \phi>_I | <\phi>_I = x_1, <\phi^2>_I = x_2 \}, \] where \(<\phi>_I = \frac1{|I|} \int_I \phi\), and showed several properties, including the fact that the optimizer satisfies a Monge-Ampere equation on a parabolic domain. The paper gave a geometric algorithm for finding the optimizer. As the review indicates, they applied this to particular choices of \(f\) to derive those fundamental inequalities. In this paper, the author points out that the supremum only depends on the third derivative of \(f\), and makes a detailed computation of the optimizer for a particular case. The paper is best read with one of the cited references, preferably [loc. cit.], nearby.
