Iwasawa algebras of compact $p$-adic Lie groups are completed group algebras with applications in number theory in studying class numbers of towers of number fields and representation theory of $p$-adic Lie groups. The author previously [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 356, No. 11--12, 1075--1080 (2018; Zbl 1404.22044)] has determined an explicit presentation of the Iwasawa algebra for the first principal congruence kernel of Chevalley groups over $\mathbb{Z}_p$ which were uniform pro-\(p\) groups in the sense of Dixon, du Sautoy, Mann and Segal [\textit{J. D. Dixon} et al., Analytic pro-\(p\) groups. Revised and enlarged by Marcus du Sautoy and Dan Segal. 2nd ed. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (1999; Zbl 0934.20001)]. In this paper, the author's goal is to give an explicit presentation of the Iwasawa algebra for the pro-$p$ Iwahori subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}_p)$ (the case $n=2$ is due to \textit{L. Clozel} [Doc. Math. 16, 545--559 (2011; Zbl 1263.22011)]). Henceforth, $G$ will be the pro-$p$ Iwahori subgroup of $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}_p)$, that is, the group of matrices in $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}_p)$ which are upper unipotent modulo the ideal $p\mathbb{Z}_p$. Note that the pro-$p$ Iwahori is, in general, not a uniform pro-$p$ group. The main extra level of tepchnical complexity while dealing with non-uniform groups comes from the fact that the $p$-valuation on a set of ordered basis on the pro-$p$ Iwahori is not identically equal to 1. Therefore, each variable in the Iwasawa algebra is assigned a certain degree unlike the uniform case. Also Iwasawa algebra of the pro-$p$ Iwahori is filtered by $\frac{1}{n}\mathbb{N}$. This increases the computational difficulty while computing relations between the variables in the Iwasawa algebra. Furthermore, one can check by hand that the graded ring $\mathrm{gr}\, \Lambda(G)$ associated to the Iwasawa algebra of the pro-$p$ Iwahori is non-commutative in general unlike the uniform case where it is always commutative. So its a natural question to ask whether the arguments in the papers [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 356, No. 11--12, 1075--1080 (2018; Zbl 1404.22044); J. Algebra 511, 405--419 (2018; Zbl 1403.11069)] for explicit presentation of Iwasawa algebras of uniform groups extend to the non-uniform pro-$p$ Iwahori group. This is the main motivation of this work, which also intrigues people's great interests towards Iwasawa algebras of the pro-$p$ Iwahori subgroups of $\mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{Z}_p)$ and $\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb{Z}_p)$.
