The authors investigate the large time behaviour, in suitable weighted \(L^p\)-norms, of the solutions of the parabolic problem \[\left\{\begin{array}{l} u_t=Lu,\,\,\,\text{in}\,\,\,(0,\infty)\times \mathbb{R}^N,\\ u(0,\cdot)=u_0,\,\,\,\text{in}\,\,\,\mathbb{R}^N, \end{array}\right.\tag{1}\] where \(L\) is the second-order elliptic operator given by \[L=\Delta +(a-1)\displaystyle\sum_{i,j=1}^N\displaystyle\frac{x_ix_j}{|x|^2}D_{ij}+c\displaystyle\frac{x}{|x|^2}\cdot\nabla-b|x|^{-2}.\] Here \(a,\,b,\,c\) are real coefficients, \(a>0\), the leading coefficients of \(L\) are uniformly elliptic and discontinuous at \(0\) if \(a\not=1\), and the singularities in the lower-order terms of \(L\) appear when \(b\) or \(c\) is different from \(0\). They use some estimates for the heat kernel of \(L\), and a scaling argument for proving the convergence of the corresponding semigroup to the radially symmetric self-similar solution \(V\) of problem \((1)\).
