Homogenization of a discrete model for a bifurcation and application to traffic flow (Q2310811)

The goal of the paper is to derive rigorously a macroscopic traffic flow model from a microscopic model, where the traffic crosses a ``bifurcation''. Besides the mathematical curiosity, it is not so clear why a macroscopic model would per se be wanted to describe the traffic flow in this particular situation since the microscopic model does it already very well. Mathematically, (based on the authors' statements) it seems this is the first rigorous result for micro-macro passage on a junction for traffic flows.
