In [\textit{S. J. Taylor} and \textit{N. A. Watson}, Math. Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 97, 325--344 (1985; Zbl 0584.31006)] the authors introduced a special Hausdorff-type measure in order to classify the polar sets (in the sense of potential theory) for the heat equation in \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\). In particular, the following anisotropic (parabolic) Hausdorff measure \(m_P\) was defined for \(A\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) \[ m_P(A):=\lim_{\delta\to 0^+} m_P^\delta(A), \] where for each \(\delta>0\) \[ m_P^\delta(A):=\inf\biggl\{\sum_{j=1}^\infty \bigl(\operatorname{diam}P(x_j',\rho_j)\bigr)^n: A\subset \bigcup_{j=1}^\infty P(x_j',\rho_j), \, \operatorname{diam}P(x_j',\rho_j)<\delta\biggr\}. \] Here, \(P(0,\rho):=\bigl[-\rho/2,\rho/2\bigl]^n\times\bigl[-\rho^2/2,\rho^2/2\bigr]\) whenever \(\rho>0\) and \(P(x',\rho):=x'+P(0,\rho)\) for any \(x'\in\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\). They proved that if \(m_P(A)=0\) then \(A\) is polar. Also, if a Borel set \(A\subset\mathbb{R}^n\times \{0\}\) satisfies \(0<\mathcal{L}^n(A)<\infty\) then \(A\) is nonpolar but satisfies \(m_P(A)<\infty\). Since such sets are semipolar, the question if every set \(A\) in \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) satisfying \(m_P(A)<\infty\) is semipolar was posed. In the paper under review, the authors give an affirmative answer.
