Using the notion of superquadratic functions and operator-valued mappings, introduced by \textit{S. Abramovich} et al. [Bull. Math. Soc. Sci. Math. Roum., Nouv. Sér. 47(95), No. 1--2, 3--4 (2004; Zbl 1150.26333)], the authors give an improvement of the Hardy inequality \[ \int_0^{\infty} \left(\frac{1}{x} \int_0^x f(t) dt \right)^p dx \le \left(\frac{p}{p-1}\right)^p \int_0^{\infty} f(x)^p dx, \] where \(p>1\) and \(f\) is a positive \(p\)-integrable function on \((0,\infty)\) for Hilbert space operators (see [\textit{B. G. Pachpatte}, Mathematical inequalities. Amsterdam: Elsevier (2005; Zbl 1091.26008)]). Moreover, the authors obtain an estimation for the positive expression \[ \left(\frac{p}{p-1}\right)^p \int_0^{\infty} f(x)^p dx - \int_0^{\infty} \left(\frac{1}{x} \int_0^{\infty} f(t)dt \right)^p dx, \] where \(p\ge1\) and \(f\) is a positive \(p\)-integrable function on \((0,\infty)\). The results are systematically well explained and useful for researchers on inequalities.
