The aim of the present article is to unveil intrinsic geometric characterizations of strong pseudoconvexity. For domains with smooth boundary the dynamics of real geodesics (Lyapunov exponents) in the Kobayashi metric opens such a perspective. Equally useful are the behavior of the squezzing function near the boundary and the asymptotics of the curvature of Bergman metric. A question recenytly raised by \textit{J. E. Fornæss} and \textit{E. Fornæss Wold} [Pac. J. Math. 297, No. 1, 79--86 (2018; Zbl 1441.32005)], is answered. A notable byproduct of the work implies that a convex domain with a sufficiently smooth boundary (specifically \(C^{2,\epsilon}\)) which is biholomorphic to a strongly pseudoconvex domain is itself strongly pseudoconvex. See also the celebrated article by \textit{S. R. Bell} [Ann. Math. (2) 114, 103--113 (1981; Zbl 0423.32009)].
