A space is selectively pseudocompact if for every sequence \(\langle U_n:n\in\omega\rangle\) of non-empty open sets there is a sequence \(\langle x_n:n\in\omega\rangle\) of points with \(x_n\in U_n\) that has an accumulation point. The authors show that if an infinite Boolean topological group is such that the subspace topology of every countable subgroup is finer than that subgroup's Bohr topology then it is \textit{not} selectively pseudocompact. A result from [\textit{J. Galindo} and \textit{S. Macario}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 215, No. 4, 655--663 (2011; Zbl 1215.54015)] implies that many pseudocompact Boolean groups can be given another pseudocompact topology that satisfies the assumption above (the singular cardinal hypothesis implies that this holds for all such groups) and this implies that there are very many pseudocompact Boolean groups that are not selectively pseudocompact.
