The natural idea to generalize differential objects using \(d^N = 0\) for \(N\ge 2\) was introduced by \textit{M. M. Kapranov} [``On the q-analog of homological algebra'', \url{arXiv:q-alg/9611005}] and \textit{M. Dubois-Violette} [K-Theory 14, No. 4, 371--404 (1998; Zbl 0918.18008)]. The category of complexes has a natural monoidal structure and \textit{B. Pareigis} [J. Algebra 70, 356--374 (1981; Zbl 0463.18003)] showed that this category is monoidally equivalent to the category of comodules of a noncommutative noncocommutative Hopf algebra. This result was extended to \(N\)-complexes by \textit{J. Bichon} [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 337, No. 7, 441--444 (2003; Zbl 1031.16020)]. A monoidal structure on the category of \(N\)-complexes is called \textit{regular} if the forgetful functor to the category of \(\mathbb{Z}\)-graded vector spaces is strict monoidal. Using the equivalence, the authors determine the regular monoidal structures for \(N\)-complexes in characteristic \(0\).
