Lek \(K\) be a field which is not algebraically closed. In a recent paper, the reviewer [J. Number Theory 202, 37--59 (2019; Zbl 1435.11068)] asked whether for any given irreducible polynomial \(f\in K[x]\) of degree \(d\geq 3\), there is a polynomial \(g\in K[x]\) of degree \( < d\), such that the polynomial \(f(g(x))\) is reducible in \(K[x]\). The author of the paper under review answered the question in the positive, showing that the polynomial \(g(x)=(1-x^{d}f(1/x))/x\) of degree \(d-1\) do the work (in case of the monic polynomial \(f\)). Then, the polynomial \(f(g(x))\) is divisible by \(x^{d}f(1/x)\).
