The authors consider a generalization, in several complex variables, of the family of Janovski-star-like mappings. Such family is denoted by \(\mathcal{S}^*_{B^n}[A,B,\lambda]\), where \(B^n\) is the open unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^n\), \(\lambda\in\mathbb{C}\setminus\{0\}\) with \(\Re(\lambda)\leq 0\) and \(-1\leq B<A\leq 1\). Let \(\varphi(\zeta)=\frac{1+A\zeta}{1+B\zeta}\); a function \(f:B^n\to\mathbb{C}^n\) belongs to \(\mathcal{S}^*_{B^n}[A,B,\lambda]\) if the following condition both holds: \(\bullet\) \(f\) is a local biholomorphism with \(f(0)=0\) and \(J_f(0)=Id\);\newline \(\bullet\) \(\frac{1}{||z||^2}\bar z^t\cdot[(1-\lambda)J^{-1}_f(z)f(z)+\lambda z]\subset\varphi(\Delta)\), where \(\Delta\) denotes the unit disc in \(\mathbb{C}\). For different choices of parameters \(A,B\) and \(\lambda\), the family \(\mathcal{S}^*_{B^n}[A,B,\lambda]\) generalizes several known sets of functions, such as the class of (almost) star-like functions on the unit ball and the class of (almost) spiral-like functions. For such family of functions the authors prove a growth and distortion result. Then they consider an adaptation in this context of the Roper-Suffridge operator \(\Psi_{(n,\beta,\gamma)}\). The original Roper-Suffirdge operator is an extension operator that, given a convex/star-like function on \(\Delta\), returns a convex/star-like function on \(B^n\). For such a generalization, the authors give a sufficient condition on the function \(f:\Delta\to\mathbb{C}\) in order to \(\Psi_{(n,\beta,\gamma)}(f)\) belongs to \(\mathcal{S}^*_{B^n}[A,B,\lambda]\). As a very personal comment I would also add that the paper is a bit hard to read because of its artificial language.
