The main message of this work is connected with considering collision processes details, which lead to the form of the collision kernel in Boltzmann's kinetic equation. This question originates from effects arising due to the glancing angle influence when a binary collision occurs for particles interacting via a finite-range potential. It is shown that the conventional form of the Boltzmann collision operator in the case of an infinite range potential can already be derived as a limiting transition from the case of finite range potentials and how the boundary effects vanish during this transition.
