The existing literature on the solution of KdV and KdV-Burgers equation are concerned with the initial value problem in an infinite extent. The present work is concerned with the solution of these evolution equations on a finite domain. For that purpose the author employed the B-polynomials (Bernstein polynomial basis) and expressed the field quantities as finite series in terms of these basis. When this approximate solution is substituted into the differential equations and the associated initial conditions, they will not be satisfied identically, there will be some residue terms left. To make these residue terms minimum, he used the orthonormality property of the dual basis. The matrix formulation is used through the entire procedure. Numerical results obtained using the current algorithm are compared with the existing analytical results which agree very well. The work is well written and may find readers working in the area of approximate solutions of some evolution equations.
