The authors provide the reader with an answer to an interesting open question regarding the decoding procedure of cyclic codes over a certain ring as well as an extension of this method. The paper is structured in three sections. The introduction is a not too long and very well written overview with respect to codes over finite rings, and, especially, cyclic codes. The recalled concepts represent the main ideas on which the article is built upon. In Section 2, entitled \textit{Main Results}, by means of torsion codes, the authors propose a new decoding method for cyclic codes over the ring \(\frac{F_2[u]}{\langle u^t \rangle}\). Certain necessary notions are recalled and the main theorems together with their proofs are presented. Moreover, for the sake of clarity, the authors give a specific example of their decoding technique. Section 3 concludes the work and the authors point out new meaningful research directions. Various helpful references are given at the end of the paper. The technical concepts and properties introduced throughout the article are described in a clear and formal manner. The results of this work are suitable for graduate students which already have technical background and, especially, researchers. Aspects which are not in accordance with the scope of the paper or other incorrect details were not identified. Only a few unimportant typos were spotted throughout the document. All in all, we underline that the current article is a relevant work mainly for researchers interested in technical aspects and new results regarding the decoding procedures of cyclic codes over finite rings (in the case in which the code length is an arbitrary number).
